A full LP has given the sisters of HAIM a chance to build on the singles and showcase their range. However, the new material is a welcome and appropriate addition to the previous hits. The debut includes all of the early favorites: “Forever,” “Falling,” “Don’t Save Me,” and the most recent single, “The Wire.” Most of these tracks are placed at the start, providing a strong initial punch to the album. These singles along with standout live performances have propelled Danielle, Este, and Alana from the small Tree House Stage at Sweet Life 2012 to tours with arena filling acts like Mumford & Sons and Phoenix, as well as headlining runs of their own.Īfter the insane amount of anticipation leading up to this album, I’m happy to report that Days Are Gone has met my and the collective blogosphere’s lofty expectations, if not exceeding them.
